       Southwest: 1930. A ceremonial Pueblo headdress. Carlisle's source indicates that it consisted of a thin board decorated with various symbols such as a sun, moon, or clouds. Cobos describes it as a thin brightly-colored wooden headdress used by Indian women during religious festivals in Santo Domingo, New Mexico. One of his citations also mentions the use of sun, moon, and clouds as common decorations.
